Hypnagogia is the experience of the transitional state between wakefulness and sleep in humans. Mental phenomena that occur during this “threshold consciousness” phase include lucid thought, lucid dreaming, hallucinations, and sleep paralysis.
These “sinking” objects are to represent the feeling of partly being in some other world. Semi-paralysed, wanting to disappear and drowning in something you don’t understand. The shape of the objects are designed as if they optically “break” and distort, as when being partially submerged in water.
Dawn is a series of 3D-printed bangles, earrings, necklaces and rings, hand dyed and hand finished.
