FLOAT BROOCH/PIN – 'INCI' – yellow, orange, pastel green
Float is about childhood memories, the sensation of floating before falling asleep, of having dreams and hopes. It’s about my young daughter questioning death and being upset that all the fun will end one day. It’s about not forgetting your dreams or your childhood, and continuing to find fun and enjoyment.
The shape is made by merging hand drawn letters from the word INCI (nickname given to me by my farther when I was a child), taking on the shapes of a little cloud.
The piece is made by press forming brass into 2 halves to create a hollow form. Each item is then hand painted by Inca which results in each piece being unique. The pin itself is solid silver.
